Along with their roles as actors and partners in a Rhinebeck candy store, Dutchess County residents Paul Rudd, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton can each tack on a new title for themselves — birdhouse artist.
Rudd, Morgan and Burton are partners with others in Samuel’s Sweet Shop. They are also actors who have devoted time to raising money for Astor Services for Children and Families in Rhinebeck through their “Ghost Stories” events.
Now, the trio is among a group pitching in to help local businesses manage the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic by painting birdhouses for an auction benefiting the Rhinebeck Responds Small Grants Fund. Rudd even painted on his birdhouse the Ant-Man character he portrays in Marvel Universe films. Hudson Valley artists Roger Phillips, Alix Hallman Travis, Trevor Hunter and Vera Kaplan are also participating.
